Any tips for someone about to go through rush?

Don't get caught up in rankings. All OU houses are good. Pay most attention to the girls in your group, especially as pref night gets closer. They are the ones you'll room with and be friends with, not the girls already in the house. Keep in mind many of the houses only put their better looking girls up front during rush. The "top" houses at OU are famous for leading PNMs on during rush just so you don't cut them before they cut you, which they will do. It's well known that girls in the "bottom" houses at OU are closer, happier and not fake. If you want to be Greek but able to stay yourself, stay away from the top houses. Also, all houses party,so don't pay attention to posts that say otherwise. Generally if you're not a beauty queen, cheer or pom member, wealthy, or top in your class the top houses will cut you. Don't waste your precious time with them. Cut them before. Take a bag with you and put in it water, a little fan, and flip-flops. You can leave it at each front door.

While this girl had a few good points she was very wrong on what she said about top houses. Top houses are still very close. I know several girls in top houses and they love it, there are only a very few who do not like it. Yes, you should go with the girls that you like. But you should NOT cut the top houses on the first day. Be yourself at every house you go to and just try to relax and be talkative. I had a bottom/middle tier house and a top house on Pref Night and cut the top house. I am so happy in my house and when I look at the girls in the other house's pledge class I'm so happy I went the way I did and didn't pay attention to all the "top houses" b.s. If you want individuality, go middle/low. If you want to be told how to be and how to act, go top...if they don't cut you.

Or you could just look at the girls at the parties and see which group you'd fit in with best. That's what I'd suggest.

Also, you don't "cut" houses on pref night unless you suicide. You probably were on the lower tier house's top list and on the top house's second list. The only way you choose is if you're at the top of both houses' lists.

Anybody who reads a post on greekrank that tells them what "tier" of sorority they should pledge seriously doesn't belong in recruitment.
