Im a PNM. What makes theta a top house? Because all the comment I have read referred to them as bible beaters and boring...?

The name, the fact that they have been here for so long with a good reputation and they are very involved. However, they take very boring and unattractive girls and have been slipping for a long time, but they will always just be in the top

If you have read much on here you will quickly realize that scandalous drama is the opposite of boring. Some houses have girls that get talked about for the wrong reasons. That is considered (on this site) "fun!" The girls who go to class, make good grades, are involved on campus, and have decent boyfriends with whom they act appropriately are therefore "boring." In real life, Theta is a classy sorority, which most people at OU appreciate. Don't get this site mixed up with the reality of OU greek life.

kappa theta and tridelt are the best houses

You really need to wait until recruitment to see what is the best house for you. It doesn't matter what a random person on this site says is best. People on here are mostly not very honest and have reasons for saying certain houses are good. Some say Theta is best; some say they're boring. Some say Kappa is best; some say they're stuck up and not involved, some say Tri Delta is best; some say they're overly interested in looks. Some say Pi Phi is smart; some say they're wild. Some say Gamma Phi is classy; some say they're boring. Some say Alpha Phi is up and coming; some say they're snap bidders. All this is probably true about some girls in those houses. But it isn't true about all of them. Don't worry so much about other people's opinion of the best house. Choose that for yourself.

I am a different pnm. What is snap bidding? And FYI to all y'all saying for is to get off this site... Every alum has suggested to me that I do loom at this site because once you look past the hateful comments, it is a pretty good representation of what the houses reputations are. For example, there is no negotiating what the top 4 houses are at OU. I would like to be in a top house as Many pnms want to be in. Without this site I would have no idea what those top houses are.

Same here. I was told about this site by an alum. Also, I feel soooo much more prepared for rush compared to my friends who have never heard of this site. I feel like I have a better understanding of what the process is like and what each house looks for.

Snap bidding is where after rush is over if a house doesn't make quota (get enough girls that are interested in belonging to that house)they give bids to girls that got cut from all the houses or dropped out because they got cut from all the decent houses. Those girls have the choice of taking a snap bid or not being in a sorority. Some top houses have to snap bid from time to time because if all the top houses compete for the same girls, sometimes there's not enough to go around. In Alpha Phi's case, though, they don't get enough girls to fill their house during regular rush.

Sororities you should want and will be happy to get. They are generally the most sought after by pnms and generally have the best reputation at OU:

Kappa, Theta, Tri Delt, Pi Phi, and G Phi

These houses have an okay reputation with the guys but are considered a little bit wilder than the ones above - more partiers:

A Phi, Chi O, DG,and AOII

These houses are still great options. AXO is considered VERY WILD and AGD is considered not as good looking but respectable and having a great sisterhoood:

You really don't know much from being on here. You have the opinion of 5 or 6 people who may not even go to school at OU -- there's no way to tell. I still suggest that you wait until recruitment and in the meantime, work on conversational skills (be prepared to talk to anyone), get your rush clothes ready, go to the gym, talk to older friends from high school that are already in sororities, get your recs and support letters sent in, and relax.
