sorority comments

The thing that annoys me is the tendency of people to want to manipulate the ratings on the left to exactly conform to their own list. So they give all ones to some great houses and all fives to others. If a house goes above a house they like, they can't wait to rank them all ones. That is dishonest and annoying.

I think that it's obvious that the ratings on the left are pretty meaningless. Actually this whole website is pretty meaningless.

I know a girl who didn't get her 1st choice on bid night. Why might that happen?

I speak for a LOT of people when I say this, but I know verrrrry few people in OU's greek community that would every consider G Phi in the top half.... yes they are nice girls,and yes maybe they dont have as many "party girls", but what have they won in the past few years? One or two things if that, but comparable to houses in the real top half, they have not contributed much to the university. I have friends in various houses on different exec boards and gphi never has a strong representation. Thats just reality

there are so many reasons she might not have gotten her first choice. Her second choice could have ranked her really really high, before the other house ranked her. Her first choice might not have wanted her. Niether house had her ranked high at all, but her second choice had a smaller pledge class. Just make sure the girl on pref night knows that you will contribute great things to the house and that you want to be invovled and you REALLY REALLY want to be in that house. You can always put down your first choice, but then you run the risk of not getting it and not being in a sorority period. But if you really hate your second choice, you can pref one house. DO NOT tell your first choice house you are doing this because some houses have policies that them must immediately rank you last, then you will probably end up without a house.

Really? That is completely weird and I wonder who you know. I'd say that everyone I know (except the Chi Os obvi!)think the Gamma Phis are top 5. They are so sweet, so classy, so dependable on committees and projects, so cute and so nice. You're right that you don't see them sloppy at parties. That's how most girls in top houses behave. As for CAC etc., the CAC chair for this year is a Gamma Phi, and there are lots of others involved. By the way, I'm not a Gamma Phi. I'm a member of a sorority that used to be at the top before everything got mixed up. Just a suggestion, stop worrying about Gamma Phi and work on making your own house better and stop tearing down other houses:)
