by: HonestyTop houses don't do spring recruitment. Period. Regardless of whatever bogus reasons houses may post on this site. Top houses don't spring recruit. If you are not looking for a top house spring recruitment is fine. If being in a top house is important to you wait til Fall when the top houses participate in recruitment. However odds are slim you get in any of the actual "top 5" houses anyway.

Top houses do spring recruitment when they need to because of girls graduating early or if they're studying abroad or get accepted at HSC. Lower houses do spring recruitment because girls drop out of their house or their new classes. Most of the time no one knows about top houses recruiting because they just take a few girls and they are already best friends with other girls in the class. People who say that top houses don't ever spring recruit are just ones who aren't in the know.

I'm in a top house and what you write is true. We are above house total and top houses don't spring recruit.

Last spring house total raised and the top houses were allowed to take a few girls if they wanted some took a handful of OU cheer and Pom girls but no one else. It was a one time thing they allowed due to the increase across the board for house total.

No one is out of the loop but it does look like your house must need to lie to get girls to join your lowly house in the spring. No top house spring recruits.

True the top houses NEVER spring recruit but it's not a big deal because most girls get cut from those houses anyway.

Last year every house was eligible for spring recruitment... Some have nationals that require it, some have the option. Some use it to invite a few of their friends into their sisterhood. Others don't bother. It isn't an issue at OU, just in some poor girl keeps bumping it because she doesn't understand. I guess if you don't have anything to brag about your house, you brag that you don't have new members???

Actually last yr house total increased allowing the top houses to take a few girls. The top houses took some OU Pom and OU cheer girls prior to spring recruitment and never participated in spring recruitment. It was a one time deal and the houses didn't have to participate because their numbers were so high but were allowed girls if there were any they wanted. All the top houses took were a few of OUs Pom and cheer squad girls. Top houses never participate in spring recruitment unless house totals are increased because spring recruitment is a chance for the lower houses to get girls without girls having the top houses as choices. Above comment needs to get her facts straight before she spins her version of the truth obviously she's not in a top house.

No they don't. All the top houses at OU exceed house total because they are allowed the fall recruitment quota no matter how many current members they have. Fall quota puts the top houses over house total each year and their numbers above house total increase with every fall recruitment quota which allows the top houses the ability to lose girls for all the reasons you stated and still be at house total therefore they don't spring recruit. Your comment is the type the original poster was referencing.
