top sorority houses

by:

Top houses get the top girls- well rounded, good grades, great character, involved with charities etc. Top Houses usually go for the OU cheer and OU Pom girls too. You know the girl you may even be that girl. These girls just click and have it all. This type girl has a GREAT recruitment and usually ends up in Theta Kappa Tridelt ChiO or Pi Phi. Those are the hardest of the houses to receive a bid from simply because they can't invite back as many girls as some of the other houses due to their historically high return rates.Girls that might not have really high grades or recs to top houses often decide to go APhi. It doesn't really matter just go with the house you feel most comfortable with the members. If you are obsessed over exact rankings of all the houses you miss the point of sorority life. Just because a house isn't considered "top5" doesn't make it a bad choice and it's probably a more realistic choice too.

^^^^ The comment above is another example of an unhelpful / invalid / misleading post. No support for her wrong ranking. Just a vague "hard to get into," etc.

This is getting ridiculous. Chi O has bumped so many posts where the same idiot girl says that Chi O is so hard to get into. She's so lying! Last year Chi O had to snap bid. That means they took girls that were completely cut by every house. They were out of recruitment completely. Chi O didn't have enough girls that would go to pref at Chi O then choose them over their other house. So Chi O had to snap bid some girls cut by all the other houses or not make quota. Two bad choices.

Don't get your panties in a bunch-- it's the PR GPB chick. ChiO had one if the best recruitments last year getting almost every girl on their top list. The GPB chick is just jealous because they took girls on bid day that AGD refused back for pref night.

I hate the whole "panlove" bullcrap, but you are right. Recruitment is just a popularity contest. Therefore we have this silly site where we argue about the rankings. Who's popular and wanted? Pom, Prez Leadership Class, cheer, other varsity scholarship athletes, dancers and performance arts girls (they are the ones who help win scandals and other competitions), girls from influential families, and girls with 4.0s. That's just how it is. Those girls are wanted. But it takes a lot of other girls to make an entire pledge class and an entire sorority.

The REAL sisterhood comes when you are on the other side of rush, when you are an initiated member of a national organization. When you are making important decision regarding the future of your organization. When you are learning the songs and chants of your organization that sisters have sung for years and years before you. When you sit in a room and learn about all of the new PNMs you will be chatting with and making your sisters.

So to all the PNMs out there... just remember that this is not your important year. Next year is your year. Next year is when memories will be made with those that will truly matter to you.

Except the top houses have great grades, beautiful girls, are involved on campus and do a lot of fundraising for their charities too. Sorry you are so bitter.
