Bid day question

by: Why

I don’t go to OU, but a bunch of my hs friends do, and I was curious why bids are given out in the dorms rather than in a big room like the way my college is going to do it.

Because OU isn’t a big Greek school

I always thought it was because if you don’t get the house you want, you don’t have all this pressure to act a certain way like you would in a big group. Some PNMs might need time to process and are given the space to do that.

It’s so anti-climatic! I was shocked after seeing my oldest sister’s bid day rum at a big SEC school. They opened in a group and then separated by House and ran as a big group together to their new house. Like Alabama.

I actually prefer the way OU does it. There is nothing good that can come from a girl who doesn’t get the bid she wanted experiencing that initial hurt and disappointment in front of an audience (and cameras of other PNMs who are filming themselves in that moment).

You need a new hobby. Why do you care or even notice how other schools are set up.
