Out state rushing
by: OUHi, I’m an out of state student going to OU in the fall and I don’t have any direct family who has been in sororities, other than a cousin. I’m am planning on getting recs but don’t know if I’ll have one for every house. Do you think this will make it less likely for me to get a bid?

It’s difficult to get a bid to one of the top houses if you’re out of state and don’t have any connections. That doesn’t mean you won’t get a bid anywhere though!
I would get recs for as many as you can, especially if you have an impressive resume. It won’t guarantee you a bid but if you don’t have any connections, a great rec can make the difference between getting an invite to round two or not.

Thank you. What about bids to mid-tier houses? I’m not necessarily concerned with the top 5. Any chance at a bid with a mid house?
