Realistic Chances
by: ConcernedI am an oos incoming freshman with no friends at OU. No one from my school has gone to OU so I don’t even have loose connections. My mom was a Theta and I have recs for all houses. I’m following everyone on social but I am not making any connections. No one is reaching out but occasionally girls from some houses like my posts. How can I make connections so I have a chance of getting a bid somewhere? If I don’t have any connections will most houses cut me even with letters of rec?

If you don’t have any connections or any friends pulling for you, it’s very difficult to get a bid from one of the top 5. Not impossible but also not likely.
Honestly I would focus on Theta since you are a legacy there. Is your mom active in any Theta alum groups? Ask her to connect with her local alum group and see if anyone has a daughter who is currently a Theta at OU and might pull for you.
