i dropped my house and want to rush again
by: PC14?I went through recruitment last year and ended up with a bid to my last choice house. The girls are very sweet, but it isn't where I want to be. I want to rush again this year (recruitment 2014) but do I even have a chance? Will the houses remember/care that I rushed last year? Will they hold it against me?

I know it's hard, but for sophomores the journey is even harder than it is for freshmen. The one difference is that you have had a year to make fantastic grades and get very involved on campus. Hopefully you will also have made several really good friends that are in a house you like. Most of the sophomores that get bids to houses they like get them because their friends in the house really pulled for them. Make yourself ready and go for it. I know another girl who got her last choice and was devastated. She got to know the girls (takes more than just a week or two :) and now is a proud happy member. So keep that as an option if you want to be greek.

The top houses will immediately cut you. They've already cut you once and they will do it again. Adjust your expectations and be realistic some of the middle tier houses may take you but your grades are only one aspect considered. Any girl who receives a bid during formal recruitment is bound to that house for one year so comment one must be referring to a girl who went through recruitment a second time during her sophomore year.

"Top House Girl" doesn't know anything. If you've made great friends with some girls, even in top houses, and you have excellent grades and activities during your freshman year, you can get a bid to a top house. My house has taken sophomores that we cut their freshman year. Usually they're from oos and no one knew them so we didn't give them as much of a chance as we did after they got to have great friends in our house.

You can only know the answer for your own house. I'm in a house people consider a top house too and we will cut her like comment 2 responded.
