sophomore rushing
by: maybe transferWhat are the chances of getting into a sorority as a sophomore transfer? Obviously I would prefer a top-tier sorority but if I do attend OU next year and go through rush I would want to get into a sorority that I feel comfortable with and feel like I fit in with even if it's middle or bottom tier. Do sororities at OU only have a certain number of spots available to sophomores or do they allow anyone as long as they seem right?

Sophomores are taken by all houses from time to time. There is no guarantee that any house will take a sophomore in any one year, though. Because there is a bias toward freshmen, sophomores have to be special. If you have great grades, a full resume, and know some of the girls in the houses, you'll probably have pretty good luck. Just a note, though, don't use the whole "top-tier" mentality as you go through recruitment. Regardless of what you read on this crummy website, all our houses are good. When you specify "top-tier" it makes you sound snobby and likely to start drama. Those traits are not ones that houses usually like. Go through recruitment and figure out for yourself what house you'd fit in best.
