Its not the same as fall bid day you don’t usually post about it at any school or chapter... the igs just suddenly follow a few new girls

Not true. Houses are stupidly shamed about doing COB where they feel they need to not talk about it publicly. It’s so ridiculous. I follow enough other schools’ IG to know many of them don’t treat COB this way and feature their new members. Which is the way it should be.
So many people here take Greek life way too seriously - it prevents them from being human. It makes them toxic instead.

I’ve seen a couple houses that threw bid days, and have posted about it. It’s just kind of odd considering that almost every house gave out spring bids. You would think they would want the girls to feel wanted, especially if they posted about the fall class.

Every house that takes a spring class celebrates that at their house. Just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Most houses take only a few girls and most already knew these girls before recruitment. If you didn't hear about it it's because you're not that connected.

I think the statement is more about the difference in how houses are treating spring pledging. It’s just a little bit weird how some houses had a full on bid day with pictures and what not, and the other houses have been silent.

Connectedness has nothing to do with it. Lol. Hellooooo?
Nice attempt at trying to deflect character issues in Greek life.

Look, you either choose to celebrate your new members or you don’t. Social media is the perfect place to do so....unless of course the leadership of a chapter, including alums, is so tainted by collective inflated egos where the mere mention of the acronym “COB” becomes anathema. Sadly, that is exactly where we are with some of the houses here.

It really all boils down to integrity doesn’t it?

Do we celebrate our new members or do we risk our “ranking” by admitting we needed to COB? LOL

It’s all pretty revealing as to what a house actually values, isn’t it?

It’s kind of sad to see some of the houses try to hide their new members. At that point, I would rather just wait until fall next year.
