more about the top fraternities

What are the general stereotypes about the top fraternity houses here. I'll be a freshman here next year and wanted to get a head start on which groups to look at. Specifically: Beta, Fiji, Lambda Chi, Sig Ep, and SAE.

I have friends or know people in all five listed above and some in others, but didn't want to waste my time with rushing all of them.

I'll consider the others but is there anything else that can be said about the original five? My current preferences would be Beta/Sig Ep, SAE/Fiji, and then LXA.

Do you know any guys in those houses? If so, what are they like? If not, you probably won't get a bid there anyway. You do realize that it's not just up to you to "consider" don't you?

I'd go with Beta/Sig Ep like you mentioned

Beta rushes smart small town kids typically, lambda rushes athletic guys, sigep rushes student council type guys, and Fiji and sae rush rich kids that party hard. Beta, lambda, and sigep are easiest to get into out of the group, Fiji and sae pretty much figure out their entire pledge class in the summer

Wouldn't want to be SAE or Fiji if I was the guy asking advice. The others are more well rounded and actually get involved on campus SAE and Fiji just kinda party hard like you said

Comment 1 and 6 was what I was looking for. I know people in 4 out of the 5 fraternities I listed and just wanted to know where to start looking to rush.

A lot of fraternities have a lot to offer and Greek life is very strong and important here. If you want to get in any of the houses named you need to make connections with many people now. Buttttttt even if you don't get the bids from what you would call the "top tier" there are plenty of great middle tier fraternities that have their perks, but definitely go any fraternity with a house over GDI.
