Continuous Open Bidding
by: HeyI chose to do COB after my last party on pref night, I received two calls today from houses participating but unfortunately they were the two houses I had left on pref night. So I declined my offers from both of them :( Is there still a chance I could receive a bid from the other 3 houses who are participating or should I give up? Like how soon after bid night do houses typically reach out? Also I know it’s discouraged to use this website but the panhellenic team said they can’t answer my question

I don’t think dg is doing open bidding, but they always take sophomores if you want to rush again in the fall. You might just be better off waiting until you’ve met girls in the houses and have some connections, to try and rush again.

They know how emotional formal recruitment can be. So if you have their number reach out. If not go to any open events that are advertised. Panhellenic can also help you make contact.
It is a great year to join. Every sorority has a very large pledge class and you can find your people in any of the 83+ girls in that new member class.

This comment is harsh but true. You may be able to spring rush but the result is usually the same as fall COB. I would ask Panhell to help you reach back out to the house that called you back, but bd prepared for them to say no since you’ve passed on them twice.
Also, don’t reach out unless you are going to give it your all. It’s not fair to the other new members for you to not be excited and give it 100%.

Girls who had great friends from high school that aren't in sororities, girls that studied abroad and missed formal recruitment, girls that got cross cut and so didn't get a house, and girls that didn't like their choices at some point prior to signing an MRABA after pref ----------> all these are eligible for COB.
However most girls that join a sorority through COB are in the first group. They're girls that already have tons of friends in the house. In fact, one house last year knew they'd be under total because they had a lot go inactive to study abroad and had several graduate at semester. So they knew they'd be eligible even though they're a top house. They didn't mention that they were doing COB because they already knew the girls they wanted and those girls didn't go through formal because they knew they'd get the house of their dreams. Is this usual? No. I wouldn't count on it, but it does show how unlikely a house that has already passed on you is going to pick you up in COB

Not every house who is eligible for COB right now will participate so hard to say.
The houses who are eligible for Spring COB may be a little different than those for fall. Last year the houses participating changed between the two semesters. It all depends on how many numbers they lose due to transfer, graduation, study abroad etc.
Maybe wait, meet girls in various houses then try again in the Spring when you will know more actives.

Agreed, but remember houses that weren’t eligible in the fall but were in the spring MAY have lost girls due to bad reasons. Just be careful. Maybe AXO or AGD will reach out.

I know it sucks watching everyone post right now, but if you didn’t see those houses as “home”, I’m glad you didn’t settle. God has a plan, you got this girl.
