Confused by current process

When I was in a sorority back my day things were completely different. My D dropped 3 days in because she was struggling but said she might get an informal bid? How does this work? I’ve heard it only happens when sororities don’t meet their quota, which many apparently have this year. Any chance of her receiving one ? Thanks.

There’s still COB (continuous open bid) for houses that have graduating seniors or girls transfer etc. There is also Spring Recruitment which is a lot more informal than Fall’s. Your daughter will need to let Panhellenic know if she is interested in either.

Spring recruitment is just COB but in the spring. Have her registered with Panhellenic for COB. Less than half the groups participate. A few will advertise events.

If she dropped with houses still available to her she will likely not find them doing fall COB. The groups that put on the good show and popular with that year’s PNM won’t be doing COB.

But all 11 houses have great chapters. Encourage an open mind. And fall is better than spring. Join your PC earlier rather than later.
