Why does spring rush matter so much

So confused as to why houses take so much pride in the fact that they didn’t take part in spring rush?? Like okay?? Doesn’t mean your houses still doesn’t have handfuls of unhappy girls??? Spring rush literally doesn’t take anything away from a house. ChiO participated this past year and is still a top house. APhi also did as well as AOII and girls still pledged BOTH! Why? Because they wanted to be there! Y’all obsess over the weirdest things, get over it already
