Beta Theta Pi Legacy

My dad was a Beta, my sister says Lambda is the top house and I should rush them. Should I mention that my dad was a beta so I get a bid from Beta as a backup plan if I don’t get a bid from Lambda or should I just not mention it at all.?

You should definitely rush several houses to see where you think you will fit best. You should definitely mention to Beta that you are a legacy. Both Beta and Lambda along with a few more are considered top houses and difficult to get a bid. Being a Beta legacy should help getting a bid at Beta but I would not mention that to any other house as they may just assume you will go Beta since it’s one of the top houses and not waste their effort on you.
You sister is right though Lambda is considered the very top fraternity and above Beta and every other house so you should definitely check them out.
