Rec letters can definitely help the chapter see who you have ties to! It can help you in the long run in my opinion. And yes you can actually talk to girls who have messaged you.

Yes rec letter can help depending on who and the house but they aren’t a game changer, and yes definitely message girls who have messaged you they just want to answer any questions you have and become a little more familiar with Greek life :)
