My last message was deleted, but as a current Sigma Chi at OU, I still feel obligated to set the record straight about our relationship with the University for the alum on here who wants to know.
It's true that we've had a pretty rocky relationship with the IFC this semester, we've essentially stopped partying in our chapter house, and most importantly, we've lowered the degree of difficulty of our pledgeship from SEC-style to an near DU-esque level. Nobody wanted to give up one of our core traditions, but the powers that be gave us a choice between relinquishing hazing and getting kicked off campus, and our decision was pretty obvious.
That's not to say, though, that our pledge class--which is honestly probably the best we've had since being back on campus--are "essentially already members". They generally understand what the brothers in the house went through to get their pins, are completely respectful when in our presence, and don't act entitled to anything. They know their place.

Finally, we don't have two strikes. There may be some gossip around campus about us having two--probably because we stopped partying in our house--but it's just that: gossip. You can call both our president and the IFC to confirm our only having one strike, which was handed to us last year after our Ski Lodge party got a bit out of hand.
