All Chapters Are Great!!
by: loveThere’s so much negativity on here, from ranks to descriptions of houses to rumors. Every chapter at OU is awesome and fitting to different girls! So maybe there are “tiers,” but that doesn’t take away from how GREAT each house is! Be proud and rush that house! Be proud and wear your letters! At the end of the day, it’s really just a name, and none of this will matter in 3-4 years! Pan love should be a REAL thing and it’s so sad that we lack that at OU. Girls are starting to rush houses where they feel most comfortable at and if that doesn’t tell you something, idk what will!

I am the mother of a soon to be incoming freshman girl. Having extra time on my hands I have come here trying to find information on the different houses so my daughter and I can discuss things from an informed standpoint as she has heard so many different things from girls in our home state regarding sorority life on campus.
Things have definitely changed since I went to college and enjoyed Panhellenic sisterhood. Even though she is a legacy to a sorority I won't name that has a chapter in Norman, my intention now will be to try as best I can to talk her out of going through Rush in the Fall and to live on campus or an apartment while she's in school.
Hopefully she will meet friends through avenues other than the Greek system.

I would definitely reach out to Kylie Frisby! She’s the Panhellenic Advisor at OU and she can definitely give you the information you need in terms of grades and such! As for finding out the sisterhood aspect, that’s a little tricky. This website is very biased and doesn’t represent the chapters fully. You could possibly follow each of the houses instagrams and get more of an “insight” if you’d like, but that still doesn’t really tell you much. Try not to feed into the lies and slander on here! I hope your daughter rushes! It’s a great experience!

I appreciate that you are trying to do some research, but this site won’t give you anything factual. So I would encourage you to tell your Daughter to reach out to girls she knows from home and Panhellenic. Since you were in a house in college you should know that sorority life isn’t what is portrayed. There is so much value in it.
Also, no one needs a helicopter mom in college, it’s time for you to let your daughter make up her own mind about what she wants to do.
