what makes the bottom houses bottom houses?

My advice is to not go into recruitment thinking any house is a bottom house. See which house you connect with and find your people. Don’t take to heart the rankings etc on this site. Good luck and enjoy recruitment!

Just go thru and find the house that fits and makes you feel at home. Nothing else matters.

after waking up and checking the responses, they don’t make sense. this website is full of “rankings” and they are all pretty consistent, so obviously there is something wrong with the houses that are always at the bottom.....

You’ve hit on why this site can really mess up a person’s views of houses before they ever even get to campus! Rankings are useless.

Nobody goes in wanting these houses litterally because they were dumb enough to go this site and already form an opinion and what usually happens for a lot of girls is they get dropped by the other houses and all they have left is aopi and agd and they feel bad they couldn’t get into any other house OR they feel bad about liking those houses cause they are bottom and would rather drop out than go to any house at all which is very sad. Absolutely nothing is wrong with them . They are great homes for girls who may have slipped through the cracks during recruitment. Girls that you would have thought would be total pi phis or chi o’s sometimes end up in these houses cause the other houses didn’t work out for whatever reason. And you’d be surprised when you go through recruitment what girls end up getting dropped cause they aren’t girls you would think. That’s why these two houses and honestly I would even go as far as saying Goni is in the same boat they are great houses for girls willing to give them a shot and they end up loving it . Litterally only bottom because the the ranks will never ever change

I know girls in these houses who had pi phi, theta, dg, chi o, on PREF and if they didn’t have aopi and agd they would have gotten dropped completely and never gotten to experience sorority life. No joke I litterally knew a girl during recruitment who loved a “top” house and the girls rushing her in that top house said “we love you what can we do to get you to pref us” blah blah blah all this stuff that you really are NOT allowed to promise and say during rush. And of course she for sure thought this was going to be the house she ended up in cause who wouldn’t after hearing stuff like that and and guess what ....SHE ENDED UP GETTING DROPPED. And only had a “bottom house left “ . So she dropped out of recruitment and ended up joining a “bottom” house in the spring to give it a chance. And she LOVESS it now and has made some best friends from it. you don’t know how rush is gonna go. You just don’t cause even if your pretty, was involved in highschool, can carry a convo really well IT STILL MIGHT NOT BE ENOUGH and you might find yourself in the same boat as alot of these other girls(most of the time it’s only because you didn’t have the right connections to get into any of the others. Sad ik). And then you might end up giving one of those houses a chance and end up loving it and then reading and hearing stuff like this on bottom houses is just annoying cause you know how much you ended up loving it cause you weren’t shallow enough to not give them a chance

You’ll end up in a bottom house if you have bad grades, bad reputation, bad resume, bad personality, bad or no connections, Or some combination of those things.

Stop perpetuating this “bottom house” nonsense.
And you all wonder why Greeks are constantly labeled as superficial and shallow?? Ridiculous. SMH.
