Let’s get real here people. You cannot label a top 2 or a top 4. What’s happened the last 2-3 years is that there are about 7 houses that girls want or hope to get during recruitment.
People wanna say kappa and theta aren’t top houses anymore because they did bad this year but can you really say there are any other houses that stand out above them?? No! The reality is that the distribution of girls are divided pretty evenly between these houses:
Kappa, Theta, XO, DDD, Pi Phi, AXO and APhi.
That’s why people say things are evening out, because there are no longer 1 or 2 houses that are so far above everyone else. In fact, there is very little difference in the 7 listed above. One house is stronger in grades where another houses is more involved on campus where another house is full of beautiful girls where another house is philanthropy strong and etc. One thing doesn’t determine who is tops...but we all know these 7 houses are great.
Now people are going to argue DG and GPhi. Both really good houses but they aren’t the ones girls are choosing over the other 7 above.
This post isn’t to slam any houses. Because in all honesty OU’s greek system is excellent and even the houses people consider bottom, are really good!

The most well rounded girls are not evenly divided between 7 houses. The top 3 (DDD, KKG, XO) have the most, PiPhi and now Theta have less, and AXO and APhi have the girls that the top 5 houses were less interested in for one reason or another- no connection, grades, bad rep, whatever. Yes some maybe most of the girls that went AXO or APhi preffed them, but let’s get real, people on both sides of rush can sense who’s going to be on what bid list and PNMs can tell whether a house really wants them and choose based on that. Obviously top houses miss great girls because every house at OU has great girls. But when you have to make cuts in a short amount of time, you’re always going to go with the better grades, better connections girls.

Sure this makes sense but I know first hand that I went in knowing that I was really interested in 2 houses and I kept a open mind but my 2 houses stayed my 2 houses and if someone cut me I did not care. So I think what the houses need to know is just because you didn’t want them the feeling can be completely mutual. My 2 houses were with in the 7 stated. My rush was amazing , not bc I wasn’t cut but because I got my very first choice and it wasn’t a traditional top 5. There are amazing girls in every house. I think girls are some what turned off by houses that think so highly of themselves. I wanted authentic down to earth cool girls who were interested in me. I’m so happy! PNM’s stay true to you. That is the best advice I could give anyone going thru in the future.

Yep! Exactly!!! Girls are tired of fake and want genuine and where they fit best. Not based off what others think or claim to be better.
Some Traditional top houses aren’t so top anymore for this reason And it’s showing.
