ou top 5 sororities.
by: Truth teller
Let me state clearly...I am NOT in a Top 5 sorority. However, here is my point. Top 5 will always be Big Six. That is their name, their grouping. There can never be a "shake up" in that group because they are exactly that. Now, this does not mean that another sorority is incapable of having a better recruitment than the lower level of Top 5. It happens sometimes. But Top 5 is what is is. A tradition.
Now some girls are horrified at the prospect of anything "less" than Top 5. Some girls, and this is the hard for traditionalists to understand, are interested in other sororities and don't really care. It's true. Not everyone is devastated if they are in another sorority. Currently, I would say Alpha Phi and AXO run closely with Top 5, but it's more of a parallel thing than an equal thing. The sororities that compete with Top 5 can change, but those are the two most current ones.
I have no dog in this fight and this is my unbiased opinion, but what I have observed and found to be true. And I am in NONE of the sororities mentioned
#3by: Just so you know
I was here in the late 2000s. My cousin just went through and so I was checking to see what people were saying about her house. In my time there were six top houses that rotated in popularity. They were in Greek Alpha order (by actual sorority name) Tri Delta, Gamma Phi, Theta, Kappa, Pi Phi, and Chi Omega. The rest were in the lower tier. AOP had recently come. Alpha Phi came while I was here. Zeta had just left, Phi Mu left while I was here. The rest were the same. So, you're right that the top houses don't change. But the lower ones do.

#7by: actually #3 is right
Before people started getting on social media to try to change things (like the sad person who wrote that a certain house was trying to rewrite history) there were 6 houses that were considered to be the top houses. Then, like now, girls were excited to get any of those houses. The houses were Kappa, Theta, Pi Phi, XO, Gamma Phi, and Tri Delta. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to change the perceptions of pnms
#9by: Future
You can’t predict the future. But the future for OU Greek will be defined by future PCs. And they are a different crowd with changing values. They way it was will not be the same as the way it will be. And I think it is going to be great for Panhellenic spirit. But not so great for competitive alums and moms stuck in the past.
