recruitment
by: OU PanhellenicGood luck to all potential new members. Tomorrow you'll be one day away from finding your home for the next four years and the home of your heart forever. As you go to the pref party/parties you're invited to, please think with your heart and depend on your own sense of where you feel the most comfortable. Anything you've read on greek rank about which houses are more desirable is silly. You've probably learned from the houses which ones concentrate on academics. This could be uncomfortable if you are not oriented that way. You've probably figured out which ones are involved. If you don't like being involved in campus activities, that house might be uncomfortable for you. I just doesn't matter if someone else thinks they're great -= they might be more academic/involved than you! If you want to be happy on Tuesday, make sure you choose a house that is RIGHT FOR YOU -- regardless of its letters, regardless of its "rank," regardless of what your roomie/best friend/mother/sister thinks is right. Best wishes to each of you!

All houses have girls who are involved. Not all houses emphasize, encourage, and support campus involvement. I had friends who sought out opportunities on their own and ones whose houses encouraged specific girls to interview for specific committees. If you are in a house where every girl seems to be on a CAC committee, it is different than being in a house where girls do their own thing OR NOT, depending on what they feel like. I feel like you @sooupan understand that and are just being difficult. This post was just to encourage girls to really look at what works for them and not be mesmerized by the "ranks" they'd seen on this site.
