truth be told

I am a Sophomore at OU. I went through recruitment and chose a house based on what other's said. My best friend pledged what people call a middle tier house. She loved them from day 1 and never looked back. She had what people consider top houses all the way to the end. But this one particular house made her feel so important and her conversations weren't forced. She chose that house and has been so happy since. I tell this story because I haven't loved my experience. I haven't made the connections like she has. I have friends and am perfectly happy but I am jealous of how great her experience is over mine.
So PNM's DO NOT focus on what the world says is better. Focus on what YOU like and what makes YOU most happy and comfortable. I am being completely honest when I say that NOBODY cares what house you are in and every single house is great. There is very little difference in the houses. So go in with an open mind, and really listen to yourself, not others and enjoy the process. It can truly be the best 4 years of your life if you follow your heart.

^^ This is really great advice though and a perfect story. The only rankings that truly exist are the community grade reports and the result rankings from campus events that the houses participate in like Scandals!!
