I know many girls who didn't get their top house on bid day. Were sad for a brief minute and then have LOVED every minute since. All of the houses at OU are awesome. You can't go wrong. It's easy to get caught up in what others say and are doing but in reality everyone is friends with everyone and doesn't care about which sorority you're in. Enjoy the process and know it will all work out. It will be the best time if you make it the best!

Rush week was brutal. Thinking you have a great conversations at a house and then you start to fall in love with that house and then bam all of a sudden you get cut. I liked the house that people would consider a lower tier house but I heard people talking about how they hated that house and a lot of people get asked back. It made me feel bad for liking it and questioning why I would like a lower tier house. . I was devastated when I got cut from my favorite but I knew I still wanted to be in a house no matter what. So I went through with it and I really did fall in a love with my house and am so glad I stuck with it. Remember you get out what you put in. If you aren’t willing to even try with a house that wasn’t your favorite then your going to be highly disappointed. I still could see myself fitting in at the one favorite house to this day. But the people I have met at my house now are incredible, they are there for me, and have made so many memories. Just give it a try and stop thinking your “too good for a house” and GET INVOLVED

Ok, I'm an alum but I thought I'd tell my story. My best friend inexplicably had Theta and the very lowest house (according to Greek Rank) on pref. She thought she was going to get Theta and ended up with the other house. You can imagine. She was devastated. I told her to quit and try again next year but she didn't. She got to know her new member class and the girls in the house. She got involved, had a wonderful four years, and ended up as president of the house. Now she's working at a famous national firm and living on the west coast. She credits her sorority with her success. I don't know if that will help if you don't get what you want.
