The problem with all this is that people are pretending to be something they aren’t. You don’t have a party and charge people to attend-EVER! It is very poor etiquette and bad taste. If you can’t afford something then don’t do it! I was a deb and never would I have invited a guest to something and ask they pay their way.
If this is what being a Kappa requires then count me and others out. I’d much rather be myself and be liked for being real than have to carry on a fake life and have fake friends. Makes for a miserable way to live.

I wrote the original post and haven't commented again since then until now, so it seems like LOTS of people agree with how low class, cheap and tacky it was for kappas to charge people $150 to attend their fake deb debut...hehehehe. But clearly ONE kappa is on here defending their terrible etiquette. I will have to give credit to a couple of kappas that I know who said they were completely embarrassed by the situation and that their moms were mortified that these tacky families charged a fee to attend their party.

my good friend from camp longhorn is a deb and her family paid for me and all of the girls that she invited from her pledge class to stay in a nice hotel in New Orleans for her party! they knew how to do it right unlike the low rent OU kappas who charged admission to their party #kappasaretoopoortobedebs
