It is absolutely not embarrassing for a house to do cob unless they've had girls drop out because they hate the sorority. That's not the case with any of the houses that are doing cob. Btw Pi Phi did make quota and made the financial decision to take a few girls by cob. Lots of houses do and it's kept quiet because they already know the girls they want and don't do a general recruitment. So there's really nothing to see here

No one is saying that handing out COBs is bad. But what’s sad is Pi Phi does it in a secretive way instead of imbracing it as you said

Pi Phi made such a huge deal about it this fall and denied as if they were so much better than that. So them being secretive makes them look stupid.
The alum/mom above needs to stop defending their tacky behavior. It’s why nobody likes Pi Phi.

How would you know it was a Pi Phi saying they weren't doing cob? It could have been an interested girl who didn't get a call from her Pi Phi friends. And being secretive is what you should do because otherwise you hurt girls' feelings.

Girls from “top houses” (in their own minds) are the ones that are on here constantly pointing their bony fingers of guilt at houses that have committed the “crime” of COBing or having a spring rush. Good to know that you’re not a “top” house Pi Phi. Top isn’t the same as nice or intelligent or even marginal. You go girls! Welcome to the world of being slammed for stupid reasons while genuinely horrible behavior by “top houses” gets brushed off.

One more time for the people in the back...Quota has nothing to do with COB! Sometimes chapters fall below Total for a variety of reasons (early graduates, girls leaving to go health sciences, transfers, etc.) and their nationals make them COB until they are back at Total. It's nothing to be ashamed of. A strong Greek community leads to strong chapters. Let's be supportive!

Has more to do with how rude Pi Phi's were about COB this fall when people mentioned they were on the COB list. They were adamant that they would NEVER participate in COB and that they were too good for it. Maybe they should be a little nicer about other houses and their reputation would be better.
