do clothes impact what house you end up in?

Do the outfits you wear during rush week really impact whether you will get cut or not or do the top houses need to be wowed in another way besides looks?

I'm in a house currently. It helps if you wear something that stands out. Cute earrings, memorable shoes, whatever. That way if we don't remember your name (we meet a lot of girls) we know who you are by an accessory when talking about you. I promise it helps.
