In most houses they don't care if you're wearing designer clothes or not. If you just look cute and put together that's good enough. I'd say the idea about online shopping is all right if you can get the clothes tailored after you get them but too short, tight, loose, etc. won't make you look your best. I'd just shop the sales this summer.

It does matter... I'd want to really concentrate on looking great with good quality clothes, shoes, and accessories -- Do not shop at Target!

To impress

Have good shoes == purses don't matter since you have to leave them before you go inside the house. Carry your shoes and wear flip flops so you can get from house to house. I agree to shop the sales this summer. Avoid Target because everyone goes to Target and sees the clothes there. You don't want everyone knowing where you got your stuff! My year our hometown panhellenic group put on a fashion show for recruitment and I saw about ten girls in one of the signature outfits they modeled. Not good.

Don't worry about clothes. Have things that are cute, in style, clean, and fit well. Wear things similar to what's suggested in the recruitment booklet and that you feel good wearing. Have fun and let your attitude come across to the houses!

Wear clothes that make you feel confident. We're not looking at your labels necessarily but there are girls who will recognize where your clothes come from. That being said, don't use your tuition money to shop at Neiman's to impress us. We're more likely to be impressed with good grades, activities, recs, reputation, etc.

With quality- and yes you are judged by appearance - treat it like a job interview- appearance is important in life
