grades?

by:

How high should my grades be to join a sorority? Does anyone know the specifics of what each house requires? and is it different or the same if I wait until my second yr to join?

If you still have invites for pref night AND list whatever sororities on your final ranking you are guaranteed a bid, but you can still get cut by all sororities before pref night!!!

What has been said above is technically true, but if you are going through recruitment for the right reasons -- looking for sisterhood, you will probably be able to find it. Just be aware that the top houses are not going to be able to take a grade risk. So, don't cut all the houses that might take you after the first day. That's what happens too often. Houses might extend a courtesy 2nd day invite, you drop the lower houses, then the top houses drop you. Result: you have no parties on the 3rd day.

Girls going through recruitment never "cut" any house, they only list their preferences, so if the houses they list don't ask them back they could actually get a house they didn't want to visit back (even if they weren't at that house the day before). If a girl doesn't drop out she will have at least one house to visit. (At some schools the process is slightly different)

That's what some people who aren't affiliated with the greek system think. Unfortunately, if you get all the houses you ranked highly back the second day, then get dropped by all of them the next day, you could end up without any houses. It probably doesn't happen often, but did happen to a friend. She had low grades but my house (and I guess many others) gave her a courtesy invite back after open house. The next day we dropped her and so did everyone else.

I don't think it's common, but it's not nice to mislead PNMs and tell them it can't happen.

You're wrong- might want to stop giving advice. PNM's never cut houses.

Is NOT someone familiar with how recruitment works, she is only knowledgeable about her house but not everything that's going on panhellenically behind closed doors. Just go through recruitment with an open mind and everything will work out.
