by:

Top houses are judged by the areas they pull kids from. So the ranking goes:
SAE: Okc private school kids
Fiji: Texas private school kids
Delt: some okc private school, Houston
Lambda: Edmond public school
Sigep: okc public school
Beta: hicktowns
Sigma chi: Tulsa public school

Definitely the absolute truth. And for sure there is no generalization in this comment. In fact, guys don't even have to go through rush now -- they just submit their graduation requirements and they are sorted into houses based on that alone. Great idea, guys!

That's why SAE doesn't have any pledges each year. So sad...

No kidding. So your parents spent mega dollars on your education and you ended up at OU? Guess the public school kids took up all the spaces at Rice and Duke.

the hell would you want to go to Rice? It's a good school academically, but it's consistently ranked among the worst social lives, which means it loses a major part of the college learning experience.

majority of "okc private school kids" do go out-of-state. SMU, TCU, Vanderbilt, and Duke are always popular choices.

Yeah, cause why would you want to get an education when you can just get drunk at hall parties and sleep through class everyday? Isn't that what a great social life means?

You do realize that social development, human interaction, and networking are major aspects of college life along with the education? Something you don't get much of at a place like Rice. I don't even go to OU, but I'd sooner (no pun intended) go here than Rice, and I'm sure there are students here who take studies seriously and kids at schools like Harvard or Yale who's parents bought their way in and who can barely avoid flunking out. Go back to Rice, you don't even Greek system, so what are you doing on this site?

Do you honestly believe that a greek system is the only place for social development, human interaction, and networking? If so, you're too stupid to even be in college. Also, if you'd rather go to OU than Harvard or Yale, you're really stupid. It's obvious that you didn't apply to any other schools or you'd realize that parents can't buy your way in.

Also, you need to learn to proofread your writing or you will barely avoid flunking out of OU, much less Harvard, Yale, or Rice.

I suspect you go to some unknown liberal arts college, and then spend your time hiding behind names like Duke and Rice so that you can try to add credibility to the anonymous trolling you do. You sound like a very unpleasant person, and I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish.

He really hit a nerve. That's a lot of protest for supposedly socially adept, secure, happy college guys. Makes me wonder...

I grew up in Houston. I know several people who graduated from Rice - it's hard to get into but then it's no more difficult then any other typical college. Wealth has nothing to do with it, it has a large endowment that makes it affordable for those who are admitted. Seems to me y'all don't really know a whole lot about Rice. It can't begin to compare with Harvard or Yale- it's not Ivy League. Sometimes people like having a large sports program too. People choose schools for all different reasons, so don't belittle people or their choices.
