sister in sorority at another school
by: Little sisterMy sister is a Theta at another school. I have no idea what that means to me when I will go through rush in August. Will houses automatically think I am not interested since my sister is a Theta? Or will it not matter since she goes to another school?

I had a friend in rush who had two sisters and a mom who where all in the same sorority but at another school. She ended up getting cut from almost every house, including her legacy house. If your sister doesnt go to OU, dont list it as a legacy. Have someone get into contact with the chapter if youre interested, but listing it on your rush profile really only hurts your chances

The first reply to the OP's question was legitimate: you should ask your sister. She is an NPC initiate and has been privy to a greek recruitment system. She should be able to clue you in to the basic dos and don't of recruitment when one goes thru as a legacy.
Recruitment convos should not dwell on your sister and her greek life, they should focus on YOU and what YOU will bring to any greek chapter that bids you. Make very sure you do not over-sell your legacy status by constantly mentioning your Theta sis and her other-campus activities.
Any OU sorority will be looking only at YOU and YOUR skills/grades/activities/interests. Be the woman they want to invite to their Bid Day.
If you keep mentioning your sister and Theta, sorority women will think you are selling yourself short/are only interested in Theta.

My sister won't know what OU does since she goes to another school
