Don't generalize about that girl's major. My best friend is a genius at OU and majoring in elementary education. She has a 4.0 and isn't there to get married... leave the major alone. Just because someone isn't interested in a desk job or a fancy engineering degree doesn't mean they're searching a MRS degree. Not to mention, this girl didn't even say her major! Stop being bitter. Right! There are lots of reasons to go to college. Not everyone does it to learn as much as possible before entering the business world. Some go to college to go out and have a good time with friends. My thought, though, is that without the education component college is just a big apartment complex. If you are going to spend the money to go to college, you should attempt to learn as much as possible. That's the ultimate reason for going. You're right that a gpa and major don't determine a person's worth, that's because not everyone is intellectually capable of making a 4.0. It says a lot about character if you don't try as hard as you can to learn everything possible from your professors.
