by: PNM2I'm rushing in spring 2017 and I wasn't sure if some sororities would already been reaching out to girls? Do they normally wait until after the spring rush event?

any house that is taking girls (maybe except AGD) would only be taking a couple of girls and only if they had some graduate early. So you need to already be reaching out to your friends in houses you're interested in. Some houses say they don't do recruitment but then they take a couple of girls they already knew they wanted. So take charge.

I didn't write the comment but maybe because AGD doesn't usually get quota (I don't know whether or not they did) -- just a guess.

COB is also called informal recruitment . The rules of formal recruitment don't apply. Sororities under Total can recruit new members in whatever way works best for them (within some common sense guidelines). For some girls this is way less stressful, more opportunities to really get to know the groups. But some groups will only have a few spots, and they might already know who will fill those spots. It changes every year.

And lots of houses are under total but their internationals don't allow any recruitment outside of formal once per year. They aren't going to take any girls. Some houses that aren't required to don't even sign up with Panhellenic but take two or three girls. The formal requirement rules obviously don't apply.
