OK, you're a little bit biased here. Tri Delt got a very mediocre pc and didn't place in homecoming. How are they #1? They're not. Kappa got a great class and placed in homecoming. They're #1. Theta also got a mediocre (or worse) pc and didn't place in hc, but they and Tri Delt have a lot of good older girls and a good reputation. They're tied for #2. Gamma Phi (and no I'm not one -- just saying that so "hmmmm" won't make a snotty comment) got a pretty good pc this year and placed in homecoming. They're #3/4. Pi Phi has a terrible reputation (sorry, it's true for the years I've been here) but got a better group of girls in their new class, so maybe they're turning things around. And the won homecoming. They're next. At this point, I'd drop down a lot and put Chi O next. They got a bad pc and didn't place in homecoming. I would be willing to be that it was a Chi O that posted as #40 because no one at OU thinks Chi O is a top house. No one. The few nice girls I know in their house hate it.

So this is the real list.

1. Kappa Kappa Gamma
2. Tri Delta / Theta
3. Gamma Phi Beta
4. Pi Beta Phi

6. Chi Omega
7. Alpha Chi Omega
8. Delta Gamma

9. Alpha Phi
10. Alpha Omicron Pi
11. Alpha Gamma Delta

It seems people pretty much agree the top three (in no specific order) are Tridelts, Thetas, and Kappas. Those three can claw it out among themselves.

And the lower tier is called "the alpha tier" for a reason, with DG being tossed in there too.

So, the biggest debate is about the middle three. Who and why? G Phi? ChiO? Pi Phi? I guess the answer would lie in how you view the "rank" process. Do you go by historical acceptance without any concrete reason behind it? Or do you identify current situations and conditions as your reasoning?

Maybe each person posting should preface their list with either: Historic or Current?

Well said. My aunt was here in the late 90s. She said that there were six "good" sororities then. The same six that are the top six now. The difference is that the top 3 were KKG, KAT, and PBP. The next group was XO, GPB, and DDD. People debated the order within the groups but generally agreed on the groupings. Then DDD got a few good classes and won a few events. Now no one knows they weren't always in the top group. She said there wasn't as much hate behavior then because the internet was pretty new. She said all her friends when they were going through rush would say they'd be happy with any of the top six houses.

Okay so if we are going off of this year's pledge classes, Kappa, Pi Phi and Gamma Phi all got the best girls. If we are going off of history at OU, top houses are Theta, Kappa and Pi Phi. If we are going off of recent history (past 5 years or so), the top houses would be Theta, Kappa and Tri Delt. Honestly those five houses are all great and there's not much more to it than that. It all depends on what you're looking at.

Can USing outcome change the ranks? It starts tonight, doesn't it?

I don't think it can change anything. HC didn't change any ratings, it just kind of confirmed the houses that got good pcs this year did well in hc. Like like when AGD won president's trophy it didn't make them the best house but when Theta wins you think yeah, they're one of the top houses. Whether they win or not, the houses mentioned in #46 are the best ones.

All of the people talking about whether a current pledge class is "good" or "bad" is being very one sided. In EVERY house there are good girls and crazy girls. So I wouldn't say a pledge class is good or bad until you've met at least 3/4 of the girls.

The panhellenic ladies who did rush have met 100% of the new pledge classes.
