gpa as a 3.0 rushing fall 2017?

I'll be rushing fall 2017. I'm nervous because I have a 3.0 and I know that'll cut me from a bunch of houses right away. Do you know what houses will take that? My grades have been on a huge upward trend -it's just freshman year grades that were awful if that makes any difference. Also, do they use unweighted or weighted gpa?

I don't know you or her so I wouldn't tell you anything even if I could. Membership selection is always completely private and isn't the kind of thing any house is going to share, esp on an anonymous website. If you don't already know that you should. She's already been given advice so I don't know why you are jumping in.

I completely agree with the person who said to keep an open mind. The #1 best rush advice is to get all your rec's in on time and to keep a completely open mind. Don't listen to stereo-types or anything else. A lot of people regret their choice on a house because they believed other people even though they knew they would fit in elsewhere.

I had a lower gpa but excellent activities, reds, and test scores. I joined a house that I never thought would be interested in me and/or vice versa. I was also let go by a few houses that I thought would consider me. The bottom line- stay positive and just enjoy the process. If you don't find a home, you will still meet tons of people in recruitment.

In all honesty, you should be prepared to be dissapointed on the second day of rush. Grade cuts are day 1. If you're still around after day 1, it means the house was able to look past your less than stellar GPA.

Yes! Even if you don't get the house you go into rush wanting, you will make friends throughout the rush process at the very least and ideally end up at a house that values you and that you love! Not every house is grade crazy, just some of them.
