truth about recruitment

There has been so much written on Greek Rank that is a completely obvious attempt to raise the ratings of one or two houses and drag down a couple of others. I was a Rho G this year so I have a pretty good idea of which houses pnms ranked highest. I also know which houses cross recruited. Of course there were exceptions but this is pretty much the list. The top five were all about the same amount of popularity but pulled from different groups.
Top:
Theta/Tri Delta/Gamma Phi ----> cross recruited
Kappa/Pi Phi ----> cross recruited
Middle:
Chi O/DG/some AXO ----> cross recruited
AXO/AP/some Chi O ----> cross recruited
Lower:
AGD/AOII ----> cross recruited
Although any rank requires some houses to be at the top and some at the bottom, I'm just going to say that our bottom houses, especially AGD, did great this year.
Congratulation to all the girls in the PC 16 classes. I think this was one of the strongest groups to come through since I've been here.

The top five are each preferred by different girls. You prefer Kappa and so do lots of others - but it's true that the girls that go Kappa and Pi Phi are similar. I would say that the top girls that go to the other top houses are similar to each other and less similar to the Kappa-Pi Phi girls. I don't know that I would interpret this as saying Gamma Phi is better or worse than Kappa. They're just different and cross-recruit less.

I'd say all the top houses cross recruit but I do think you're right that the groupings of houses you made are the ones with the most similar girls.
I also agree that the AGDs got a great class. I think having a brand new house really helped them. The girls are cute and super enthusiastic!

The top houses cross recruit. At the same time... No one is going to go GPB if they have theta or DDD... Nor kappa or PiPhi. GPB is more of the bridge between top and middle tier.

Really recruitment choices are more about personal connections. In my Rho G group there were lots of girls who did pref Gamma Phi over houses that you mentioned. I guess there are people who are shallow enough to look at greekrank to decide which house to pref but really I didn't experience that. When we talked about which house they put first I only heard about how they connected with the house, not anything that sounded like a choice based on your opinion of rank.

Finally someone speaks the truth. Maybe switch tri delt and gphi, but overall it's accurate!!

I wasn't a Rho G, but this is my second year on the other side of recruitment. I can't speak for all the houses but the two houses my house is said to cross recruit with is accurate. We ask at pref where else they're going so we have a good idea who we compete with.

Axo, aphi, dg, and xo all compete for the same types of girls (the more social party type)

GPB is not that high. Sorry it is true though. I'd say #4 or #5 and definitely not higher than kappa.
