by: Eyes openIf you are using this site as a tool to decide what house you want to be in based off rankings, tiers, and usually inaccurate comments, Greek life is not for you. This is not high school anymore, you should go in to rush looking for your new home, not your new clique. Popularity and ranking is 100% subjective, and most of the ones on this site are based off superficial attributes. Make your own opinions. You will find women of all types in EVERY house, you can not simply generalize 300 women under one label. I hate that pnms look at this site and will go into rush with a completely skewed perception of Greek life on this campus, and will thus end up in a house that may not be the best for them. You don't know what it is really like until you become a part of it, don't listen to any older friends who think they know the system, especially if they, themselves, are not members. Go into every house with an open mind and you will find where you belong. Ok that's it lol, get ready for the worst and best week of your life!

Exactly. If you're just looking for a top tier house, you are making a mistake. For one thing, what some people consider top tier (academics, athletics, activities, shows, etc.) are not what others consider top tier (looks, popularity with fraternity guys). You need to decide what is important to you and choose a house that honors and respects the things that make you you.

LOL all the ranks I see bumped up list Gamma Phi as a top five house and they aren't. Doubting chio would bump ranks making them a bottom tier house. My guess is Gamma Phi because they seem so obsessed with the fact they aren't a top house.

I have faith that people can see things for themselves. The key is to ask questions during recruitment. Ask how the house ranks in grades. Ask how they do in intramurals, shows, philanthropies, etc. See how those things line up with your interests. If you're not academic and the house always places in grades -- you'd be miserable regardless of how highly they're rated. If you are a singer or dancer and that house doesn't get picked for shows, you're probably going to want to go elsewhere. But be careful and ask followup questions. If you ask about shows and the girl recruiting you says "Oh, yes. We love shows. We're doing U-Sing with the XYZ fraternity." That doesn't mean anything. Look for a house that says "We placed in the top 3 for the last X number of years." If academics are important, don't just accept "Grades are soooooo important to us!!!" Look for "We won grades for the last X years."

I agree! But like the comment above this one says, ask specific questions because all sororities care about grades, all will try out for shows (some don't make it in the show), etc.
