Your mother has probably told you this and you haven't believed her, but the truth is that you need to trust the process to find the best house for you. What's a top five house for some random person on greek rank is not necessarily a top 5 house for you. And besides, there is a lot of disagreement about which house is best. Some would say Theta but if you are not academic oriented you might be miserable. You just need to go through recruitment and ask questions to find your home, not to trick some house you've heard is a "top 5" house into taking you. Every house is different and you need to make the decision, not anonymous people on the internet.

Legacy will help get you invited back once after open house because all our houses have tons of legacies. PLC will help the most. Work on your outfits and conversations then trust the process and you'll do fine.

Don't get faked out about the top 5. There are a real top 5 and a fake top 5 (which includes Chi O). If you're just going for top 5 and don't realize that you could end up in a #8 house.

If you are a legacy and don't have any girls that you know in the house, it won't help you. There are too many girls going through that have connections, I'm speaking only for the top houses. Do the math, if you have 300 actives and each one has a favorite and they only take a pledge class of 90; do the math. Yes, some girls cut top houses, but very few. Sometimes a rushee will click with an active that has a lot of pull in the house and then that can help. If you are cut from a house it doesn't mean that they didn't "like" you. There are just a limited amount of spots for pledges.
