by: ?what is the REAL reason everyone hates theta? cause none of the stereotypes about them are even true so whats the deal? what did they do? it seems like people like to drag it on to make them feel better about themselves?

No one hates theta. Theta is just considered bottom tier. It doesn't man they're bad, it just means they're not as good as other houses. No big deal. The are probably 50 girls who regularly check and post on this site. They are rude, bitter, and have nothing else to do. People don't walk by the theta house and think ew omg or laugh when they walk by a girl wearing a theta shirt. It's pretty much just this website.

But now you are just perpetuating the stereotype. Do you see a picture every year with different girls in front of the tent in the grove? Do you still ask random people in the grove about Ole Miss sororities? I've heard they have gotten good pledge classes the last few years. At what point do you let go of the examples you mentioned? Isn't it time?

Ok, so you have a problem with Theta now. In the 1980's, Theta was fabulous... homecoming queen from Jackson Prep. I don't understand all the bullying from other sororities. I, personally, would like to see Theta go off campus than have to endure the hate from campus and alumni alike. Is this what you really want? Let some other chapter be on the bottom. Ole Miss at it's finest Southern hospitality.

Why would you suggest to let some other chapter be bottom? Ole Miss has such a lack of Panhellenic spirit and community, it's sickening. Maybe if everyone supported each other and didn't follow the "tier" system, every house could flourish.

What is the REAL reason everyone hates theta. Not unlike: What are the REAL sorority rankings.
Ignore it and move on. GR has no interest in this being a positive environment. Nice friendly message boards don't generate lots of activity.

early 2000s their CFO took money from the chapter, girls dropped when they found out and they became small. They tried recruiting only high gpa girls, but these girls were weird in a lot of the greek community's opinion. Since then they've gained a reputation they've been working hard to shake off. Just shows how one girl can hurt a chapter and how much Ole Miss loves to jump on any sign of weakness.

Basically what happened to Gamma Phi Beta at Bama in 2003, when they were the first NPC chapter to bid an African American PNM. Only the "keeping them in the basement" was enforced by The Machine (which OM is lucky it doesn't have). Only just now are they shaking off the bottom-house stigma they had for so long.
