coming to ole miss!
by: Jersey GirlI'm a hs senior planning to come to ole miss next year, and I would like to rush. I'm so excited (my mom went to ole miss and I've heard so many great stories my whole life!), but I'm a little bit nervous about how I will be perceived going through rush. A friend of mine is a freshman at a school in va and she said that there are definitely some people who don't really talk to her and haven't been very kind because they just assume she's a liberal northerner who doesn't fit in, etc. I'm working on my recs and connections through my mom and local greek alumni chapters but will I have a tough rush just because I'm from New Jersey??? I have a 3.6 GPA, I'm involved in theater, I'm the vice president of our class and the co-captain of our tennis team. I also teach kindergarten Sunday school at my church and I've been a lifeguard at our swim club the past 2 summers. But people hear nj and always make assumptions about how you speak, how much hair spray you have in your hair and how much time you spend at the mall...and then think they know what you're all about.

You would have been fine except for one small detail! You gave away tooooo much information about yourself. We will now know exactly who you are and nobody want to take as a new member somebody who frequents Greek rank! Drama queens and lonely moms are all you will find here.
