connections

I'm gonna be a freshman going through rush in fall 2016. When you guys say that you need "connections" to get into a good house, what does that mean? Do I have to know girls already in the houses? Or have Rex's written by alumni of those houses? What exactly does having a "connection" mean?

By connections we mean that you have actives in the house that know you well enough to stick their neck out for you. Chapter alumni connections will also work as long as they are willing to make a few phone calls on your behalf.
