2016 rush
by: PNM from the northI plan to rush next fall however I am from the north and not a boarding southern state. Im going to talk to family friends that are ole miss sorority alum so they can introduce me to active members to visit and go to a spring party with however Im just wondering are there any specific sororities that will cut me because Im not from the south? Thanks for the help!

No sorority will cut you because you aren't from the south. But it might be harder for you to get in because you will have a harder time finding connections. But if you can get alums to introduce you, then you're taking the first step, and that is key!
Southern or not, if you don't have connections, grades, a great personality, a great resume, etc., then you probably won't get in. But it seems like you're taking the right steps, so keep it up and you'll be fine!

I'm from the north and went through rush this year- I ended up in a great house that I love and was not judged at all during rush for not being from the south. You really do need to work hard pre-rush (which it sounds like you're doing) and you'll be fine!! As long as you try to make as many connections as you can and prepare yourself to work hard everything will work out perfectly! Go into it open minded and have a good time!
