pike party friday

by: Confused

Why is the university letting Pike have a registered party at their house Friday with this whole on-going investigation? Anyone find this a little strange?

Unless they are doing it underground without permission by the University, but then why is it posted on this site? If that is the case, I see another incident happening.

Why can't they have a party? This is a legal matter that had nothing to do with the fraternity. They have been kicked out and they are now in legal jeopardy. They had only been pledges for a week.

Pike actives have been cleared of this whole thing. Keep stirring it up. It was pledges that decided to act stupid. The media even has a letter stating pikes did nothing but of course they don't say that in the story. Welcome to main stream media.

If school tries to sweep this under the rug, I imagine there will be lawyers lining up for a civil suit against school and pike.

The pledges made the Daily Mail. Take note: Pledges are still connected to the active membership even though they are not yet initiated. They are supposed to be learning what it takes to become an active. Our pledges would never do anything like that without an active knowing about it. Don't act like it has nothing to do with the actives.

The Daily Mail made it sounds like the pledges were ordered by the actives to steal something. But I know the media gets it wrong all of the time.

I'm sorry but sounding does not sound right with this story. If they were pledges, then what motive did they have to perform this unnecessary stunt? It's not like pledges think on their own to do something out of the ordinary or against the fraternity standard, unless they were told to do so by either the active brothers or maybe just 1 brother. There are too many holes in this story and it seems to me that Pike is just hiding the real truth.

keep on with your conspiracy theories. They decided on their own to do this. 18 year old kids do stupid $hit all the time. The media was given a copy of the letter from both the university cops and the Oxford police but chow not to mention that. They are moving on but you can keep losing sleep over it of you choose.

18yrs olds may do stupid $hit, but for 5 guys to beat up an innocent person for no apparent reason does not make any sense, especially when it violates the University code of conduct which can either get these guys suspended or expelled. So why would they jeopardize their college future? There is more to this incident that is being covered up.

Hard to believe you guys are in college. The police report (investigation) cleared the fraternity and a document was generated to let the truth out. You're going to keep arguing that even though they were only pikes pledges for a week that the fraternity is still responsible so it's futile to keep arguing. The investigation is over. The trials for the young men are upcoming.

Every link I follow has a confidential version of the report. And how does a police report clear pike of any wrong doing? The school can always punish pike you know?

So using your logic wouldn't the university also be held accountable ? They were ole miss students before they were pledges. The issue is that 5 "individuals" did a stupid thing on their own and will pay the price. I know in the Greek system it gets very competitive and for some unknown reason one organization likes to see another taken down. Makes no sense to me but its true. The truth is they have been kicked out of the fraternity and may well end up kicked out of school. The pikes are moving on. The university has meaded out their punishment to them and now the 5 must face their legal battle.

they were pledges of PIKE not active members and what they did was not condoned by the fraternity which is why they were blackballed. no harm, no foul. now let's party!

To someone's house and stealing is a big deal. They should have been disciplined as a group due to the fact an active took them over to steal. But whatever, we all have different morals.

Do YOUR morals allow serving alcohol or for that matter drinking alcohol as a minor? If your morals allow that then STFU
