rush 2016

by: Incoming Freshman

So I recently got accepted into Ole Miss for the Fall of 2016 and I'm unbelievably excited! I really want to rush next year, but I'm nervous about a few things. I have a 4.0, am a two sport varsity athlete, have always been recognized as one of the popular, pretty girls, but I'm from out of state and I'm not a legacy to any chapters. Does this hinder my chances of getting a bid to any of the middle or top tier houses?

I just got through from OOS and got a top house ! Start making lists of women who can right recs and support letters for you. In Jan. start asking these women to write for you. You need 2 recs per sorority and several support letters. For the top sororities you need at least one Ole Miss alumni to write at if all possible. Send your Resume, 2 pictures, addressed, labeled, and stamped large envelopes along with a thank you note to these ladies. Recs and letters will start going out in April so the girls can start getting to know you . Good Luck !!!

I am also OOS and got into a top house. Don't let all of the negative posts on here scare you!! I actually didn't even have an Ole Miss Alum write my recs either! My best advice is to use your limited connections to meet as many people as possible! If you come for any spring parties, don't go wild, and try to form a bond with an active.... Follow up with them in social media throughout the spring and summer. You HAVE to have someone pulling for you inside the house to get your name on the initial list of girls they're watching!

Why should we join the Facebook page? I have joined but I'm just wondering because I see people on here say to join asap!

Also is there like an official one because on fb there are 2

Best way to find a roommate , buy bedding for your room next year, and learn about things going . Join both groups.

We are barely a week into October. OOS applicants who submit by the 10/1 deadline typically do not get a response until around the third week of Oct. I call 🐮💩.

Wait what are you talking about? Who submit what by the 10/1 deadline? Sorry I'm just confused and I don't want to miss anything! I didn't know there was a deadline for 10/1 for anything😁

Ole miss has revolving admissions.

I applied in August and received my admissions letter in September.

If you are an OOS legacy is that good or bad. What I mean is will sororities drop you if they know you are a legacy at another sorority. Sounds like being a legacy won't help me, but I am wondering if it can also hurt me. They might think I want that sorority which I may not.
