Why is Alpha Phi cutting girls if they're still taking applications? It doesn't seem very fair to the girls who got cut. Their Facebook page said they were still accepting applications.

Just because you apply for APhi does NOT mean that you automatically get in! Did you think that is how it was going to work? They have standards and specific types of girls they are looking for, just like every other sorority. You didn't fit what they are looking for. Sorry.

actually I don't even go here. I'm an alpha phi at a chapter up north and we were required to like their Facebook page around the time they first made it and saw that post the other day then came on here to see how they were doing and saw they already cut people

Just like formal rush, just because you sign up, get a rec doesn't mean they have to take you. Sorry but it like a try out just like other clubs and activities on campus

Hate the way they are colonizing! Hate the way they are disrespecting our existing chapters. Hate the way they think a pretty face is all you need to make a great sister.

Some of the prettiest girls I k ow are also the meanest. They will end up with a house filled with pretty little backstabbers!

There is nothing mean about cutting while recruiting. They don't want just anyone. They cut those they don't while looking for girls they do want...it's called being selective and it's the perfect strategy for becoming a top tier house in no time.

They will be required by Panhellenic to take a certain number of new members, just like the rest of us. Their nationals will also require they maintain a certain level of scholarship, just like the rest of us.

Every top house on this campus and most middle houses have raised, not lowered their academic standards. Most take great pride in their philanthropy. I can't see any sorority being successful anywhere when looks are the most important thing they look for.

At other schools like bama their standards are a pretty face and their gpa average is like a 2.7 and they're not involved
