Will it be tough to get into Alpha Phi next year since they colonized this year?

to Alpha Phi here. With these huge new member classes, we need more sororities.

alpha phi can be whatever they make themselves here. there are schools that theta is top tier, just because theres a few that are one way doesn't mean aphi needs to be dragged through the mud. the girls defending them and the girls dragging them down are obviously not members, let the ole miss members make the chapter what they want it instead of judging them before they even join.

this is honestly ridiculous! ole miss alpha phi hasn't even had 1 pledge class and they are already getting hate! just because the chapter at lsu and bama have superficial girls doesn't mean ole miss' chapter will! let them colonize and see what they can bring to ole miss!!

Why is there so much resistance/insecurity about a new chapter? We need more houses as we have so many great girls and how many can a house take - I mean pledge classes are like 150 now. I could care less what Alphs Chi's rep is let the Ole Miss chapter be whatever they want. I am heartbroken about a couple of perfect girls who got cut and any house should want them - AC can have an amazing PC this year and then join the craziness that is OM rush. Welcome AC - we need you here!

You realize that Alpha Chi is NOT coming to Ole Miss...right?

Alpha Chi = Alpha Chi Omega

Alpha Phi is coming to Ole Miss. C and P aren't even next to each other on the keyboard!

There's this thing on an iPhone called auto correct. So if you type chi quite a bit when you try and type phi it will change it.

Calm down its not the end of the world.

I think the sororities are threatened by these girls. Since when has a guy ask you what your GPA was prior to him asking you out?

Hahha exactly, GPA doesn't take away charm, looks, character or a good heart/amazing philanthropy. You can't expect the newest chapters to have a high GPA because of the way rush works for colonies. So if that's all you got, no wonder you're scared.

LOL that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard, you're right people with average GPA's only date so they can sleep with random guys... I'd like to see your GPA clearly you're lacking. And FYI some people may be more driven to their philanthropy than they are to academics and that doesn't make that person of any less value.

Why would someone clearly be lacking if she wanted to date academically minded people?

That's like saying "My priorities in dating are to get a handsome guy" which someone is entitled to do without being hated on.

Academics is absolutely a trait to be admired but chances are that given the circumstances Alpha Phi may end up with a lower GPA than most chapters. However, to say that a sorority is no good based on GPA is nearly just as shallow as recruiting based on looks... Which makes most posters hypocritical "you're so shallow and your GPA is low so you suck," honey, please. There's a lot more to a sorority than either other these traits, one of my sisters is the SWEETEST most devoted and involved girl and she just happens to not be all that academic. That doesn't make her any less of an asset to our sorority, my time in college would not have been the same without her. And that's what sororities are really supposed to be at the end of the day.. sisterhood well beyond your collegiate years.

he won't care if you're only going to be his slam piece, which is what Alpha Phis specialize in.

I heard they weigh you and take your measurements at interviews...

it appears they might take all the pretty girls...at least according to their alums who should know what membership selection is like

It sounds very vain to say the least. I'm no troll but can't imagine being that preoccupied with appearance

Are you actually a reject or did you drop out because you thought you were too good for the houses you had left?

If it's the former, my heart goes out to you and I'm sorry you fell through the cracks

If it's the latter, you are a conceited snob and that is your problem

This may come as a shock to you but the Alpha Phi's that you detest so much don't even exist at Ole Miss yet :) that's a lot of hate for a chapter that has 0 sisters isn't it? Good luck "recruitment reject." If you pledge Alpha Phi you'll be more than happy with the turnout :)
