membership selection

here's the gist. for the top 4, girls go home after rounds and the alum make decisions along with their rush committee. for the rest, you might be voted on by exec or maybe all of the chapter, or some girl with influence might just cut you or pull you thru. its all very weird and honestly i dont know how any of us made it thru because the process is so intense. stop worrying about membership selection and enjoy your week.

Membership selection at ole miss is private for a reason. Honestly none of us have any idea how our new members are chosen!

Sure we all vote, or rank, or whatever, but think about this.

There are 1700 girls going through rush. We vote yes or no on all girls. Let's say half get yes votes and half get no votes. (Theoretically). We now have 850 yes girls. Only 150 of those girls will receive bids, so how do you narrow it down from here?

Actives don't. Their rush teams (that include alumni advisors) do. They are the ones that order the lists. Half the house can LOVE you and vote yes, but all it takes is one alumni, having seen a red solo cup on your Facebook page, to put you at the bottom of the list.

My sorority ranks girls. We look at grades and involvement and connections (yes, who you know helps) and everything else, but the magical, secret formula is only known to the rush team and alumni advisors.
