tomorrow

by:

Tomorrow is the day we have all be waiting for! Actives and pnm's alike have been working since last spring for this week. I hope everybody can relax and enjoy the week.

Keep in mind that while every sorority is good, they are not all the same! You need to find the house YOU are most at home it!

DDD/XO. These top sororities are filled with beautiful, confident girls. It is hard for girls to truly stand out in these sororities as they all are exceptional! These are not a great fit for insecure girls!

KD/DG. These are also top houses, but for different reasons. These girls are competitive! They work really hard! They are filled with smart, talented women. These are not a great fit for girls that don't like to compete.

Phi Mu/Kappa. These solid middle tier sororities are filled with energetic girls who love to have fun! They can turn any situation into a party. These are not great houses for the shy, serious students. No wall flowers here.

Pi phi/AOPi. These upper bottom houses are tricky. A lot of their actives come from far oos and are a true mixed bag. Girls who haven't found their true selves might get a little lost, but their sisterhood is awesome. From personal experience, I know the Pi phis have some of the best meals on campus! Never turn down a dinner invite with a Pi phi!

Adpi/theta. Bottom tier, but only because of ole miss traditionally favoring the older sororities. They still have swaps and date parties and their experiences are much the same

I ran out of room, but I wanted to throw in that theta and Adpi have really sweet members. They are not great sororities for those girls with huge egos that like to flaunt and brag. No room for drama queens!

I have friends in all sororities. I love them all! Each of my friends are all a little different, but they all bring something great to the table!

I'm not sure why you feel the need to promote the same, tired stereotypes of the houses at Ole Miss. Are you insecure about something?

PNMS, I'm sure you have the knowledge and skills and wisdom to make your own decisions. Don't be easily influenced by anyone else, even a well-meaning (or so I'd like to think) active like this one. There are MANY types of girls in ALL of the houses at Ole Miss and the houses themselves don't fit into neat little categories like Brave Active seems to think they do. In fact, I would call these stereotypes.

Thanks so much for this informative post! It truly shows there is a house for every type of girl. Go somewhere that feels home, not just because someone says its cooler or better!

I agree with everything. Don't let the biddies convince you that all houses are the same! They are not! Each house has its own personalities and quirks.

Follow your heart and you will find a great sorority that you feel right at home in.

This is just wrong. I've seen these stereotypes over and over and what you fail to notice is that houses aren't generalizable in this way. There are way too many members who are diverse in all the houses for stuff like this to be accurate.

Love how you highlighted each sororities strengths instead of bashing them!

Good job.

I don't think she did... how is being a "mixed bag" a strength for AOPi and PiPhi?

Trust me, this person feels threatened.

I see no evidence of that? You're just throwing mud and hoping it sticks.

I think this is not positive or constructive. Yeah sure it starts out that way, but by the middle it ends up being negative. And it's just stereotypical overall.

Is she really saying that Phi Mu and Kappa don't have studious girls?

Or that AOPi and PiPhi are just a hodgepodge?

Or that if you're loud and proud you won't fit in at Theta and ADPi?

I think you are reading way more into this than necessary!

Such stereotyping disguised as flattery. Even when you are "nice" you put others down :(
