should i cut them first?

by:

I don't have rec letters for two houses, should I cut them first because they will for sure cut me? Or if they like me and wanted to offer me a bid will they find an alum to write a rec for me? I'm not sure what to do...help please.

Some sororities have a national policy that they require recommendations in order for a PNM to get a bid. At a school like Ole Miss where there are a lot of qualified PNMs to choose from those houses aren't going to consider you if you don't have a recommendation. I don't think they're going to write you a rec if you don't have one...when there are so many other qualified and pretty girls who have recs.

DO NOT cut any house that you like just because you don't have a rec. If they like you, they will find you a rec if it is needed. If they don't feel like you'd be a good fit, chances are they will probably cut you after first round anyways, meaning that it doesn't matter where you ranked them.

Rank the houses in the order of where you feel at home and where you would love to spend the rest of your college years, rec or not.

Thank you, this gives me hope! I'm also going in without having recs at all the houses.

You won't need to worry about cutting houses. If a house cannot take you without a rec, you will be cut first round.

If a sorority can bid you without a rec, or has the ability to find you a rec, they will keep you.

Do not cut anyone for this reason.

If they don't want you enough to find a rec for you, they will cut you
